What songs do you listen to on repeat?

or

What songs are you currently listening to on repeat, songs that you can or do listen to over and over again?

or

If you don't have a tendency to listen to songs on repeat, use this prompt:

What song could you listen to over and over again and never get sick of?

Bonus -

Why? What is it about these songs that you cannot get enough of?

Please feel free to include or embed Youtube links. You are also welcome to change "songs" and incorporate artists, musicians, CDs ect. into this prompt in addition writing about a song or songs.

NOTE - I would like to continue this Music Experiment and increase the number of replies/responses that it receives. If you like this project or know someone who would, please pass along the link - http://TheMusicExperiment.tk or http://sourlullabies.livejournal.com

What song/artist/band/album do you listened to to feel grounded?

It could be a song/album/artist/band that calms your nerves when you've had a stressful day, or one you turn on when you're feeling emotionally vulnerable. Or it could be a one that reminds you of the things you love, or just brings you back to a place, a feeling that lets you know as long as you are listening, everything will be okay - if only for the duration of the song/album, if not more.

Please include Youtube links/embeds in your reply if you'd like!

The Music Experiment
Hands
[info]sourlullabies

This started out as an idea - an experiment - to have a way to share music. Over the course of this week, this idea has blossomed into something that I don't just want to do, but need to.

There is nothing that I love more than to share music that is important to me with others - music that has truly affected my life. This is not a place to go to trade a song or to find a CD leak, but an experiment I want to try that will allow us to share the music and the stories that are important to who we are.

I have tried to think of how to organize this - and the fact of the matter is, there are plenty of different ways to do it, different themes or approaches to take. There are a lot of CDs and records that are dear to my heart that I would like to share with you, but I must start simple  and I must start small to see how this works - or if it will work at all.

So here's how I'm going to try this. I am posting a prompt to get things started. I will respond to it in a comment to this entry with a link that you can use to download the song/CD I am referencing. It would defeat the purpose of this project for you to download without reading the story, so don't do that. You can reply to my story with your thoughts or comments, that's fine. Replying with your own story is even better. You can also reply to this entry to respond to the prompt.

I suppose the journal may need to be made private, but let's see how it goes for now.

What song/CD/artist/musician/band changed your life, that made you fall in love with music?

This is not asking WHO is your favorite musician or song, but what was the defining song or artist that showed you that music is more than noise, more that something to be played to dance to, to do homework to, to drive to etc.
